David Cregg — Critical Graffix

Design Should Leave a Mark.

Critical Graffix exists because most modern branding has become painfully safe.

Disposable logos. Identical aesthetics. Carefully optimized creative work engineered to offend absolutely nobody and therefore remembered by nobody.

That was never the goal here.

Critical Graffix creates branding, illustration, visual systems, and promotional work built to hit immediately and stay lodged in memory afterward. Strong silhouettes. Aggressive hierarchy. Controlled chaos. Design that understands attention is earned, not politely requested.

Before design became the primary focus, I spent years working inside operational environments where mistakes had consequences, pressure was constant, and systems either worked or failed in real time. That background permanently shaped the way I approach creative work: structure matters, clarity matters, execution matters, and communication matters.

Good design is not decoration.

It is signal clarity.

The visual side of the work pulls from cyberpunk aesthetics, graffiti culture, cinematic sci-fi interfaces, industrial systems language, bold typography, and pop-culture iconography — but the underlying goal is always the same: create something unmistakably identifiable at a glance.

Alongside client branding work, I also created the Recovery Comix series: minimalist recovery-themed cartoons focused on addiction, denial, honesty, consequences, and self-awareness. That same philosophy carries into the rest of the studio work as well: direct communication beats polished dishonesty every time.

There are already thousands of places online willing to produce fast, generic, interchangeable design work.

Critical Graffix was built for people who want something with an actual point of view behind it.
